Here at Somily we offer consultancy services for energy related issues our clients have.  The directors and proprietors hold physics degrees from UCL and the University of Birmingham.  Using that physics knowledge we find bespoke solutions for our clients for energy related issues.

Our focus is on the lower cost solutions in the areas of energy control, humidity control, self generation and creating ISO 50,001 compliant Energy Management systems.  We assess the issues identified and produce a high quality report with cost-benefit analyses.  If you are working to a budget we can recommend changes to meet that budget and indicate the value of the improvements you will likely see.  We will still consider the higher cost solutions where appropriate but we will concentrate on achieving the most for the least cost - if a measure is effective and costs nothing to implement it'll be the first thing on the report!

We can assist finding tradespeople to carry out work if our clients would like us to do so, however we can carry out some draught exclusion and moisture control measures ourselves.

We differentiate ourselves from EPC Energy Assessments by taking direct measurements of the energy losses and gains to the property rather than purely using standardised values and assumptions.  That is not to say that the EPC does not have any value - it certainly does, but if there are patches of insulation missing in a wall, draughts, etc, we are more likely identify those issues than an EPC assessor.

We are not an eco company per se - we are NOT going to recommend all of our clients rip out perfectly good gas boilers in favour of heat pumps.  However, using energy efficiently will result in a reduced emissions to the environment as well as a reduced cost to you.
